Underground Installation

Discover our step by step guide on underground installation

You will be given an all-day appointment due to the nature of underground works. Work can take anywhere from two hours to all day, depending on the size of your garden and complexity of the infrastructure.

The team will bring the fibre from our existing network in an underground chamber, under your garden using existing duct, to the confirmed entry point of your home. The engineer will make the best effort to minimise any disruption to your garden and property.

Step by step guide

Step one

Our skilled engineer will locate the chamber and set up a safe site.

Step two

The cable is brought to your property underground, using existing ducting.

Step three

The fibre is then pulled out of the duct and tacked to the wall.

Step four

The fibre is brought to a Customer Splice Point (CSP) - a grey box on the outside of your property.

Step five

A small hole is then drilled into the wall, connecting the fibre to the ONT - a white box on the inside wall.

Step six

The engineer will then connect the ONT, to your hub and you’re ready to go!

Step seven

Finally, we carry out a speed test to make sure you are receiving brilliant ultrafast broadband.

Underground Installation FAQs

  • Can I rearrange my appointment?
