As the cost of living continues to skyrocket, finding the best possible deals on household bills is essential. Broadband is no exception to this, however with so many providers it is difficult to know who to go with or what exactly you need.
When choosing the best possible deal, it’s important to consider these different factors:
Do you need fast broadband?
It’s easy to think that speed is the most important part of a broadband package, however people who use their internet for small tasks, such as general browsing, or checking emails won’t need the same type of package as homes where people are constantly downloading and using demanding applications. Does your package need to include phone calls?
Unlike some providers Wessex Internet don’t charge line rental which makes having a home phone much cheaper. However, if you only use your mobile phone to make calls, then it probably isn’t necessary to have a landline.
How much do you want to pay?
It’s often tempting to go for the cheapest option (who doesn’t love a bargain?), however this can often backfire in the long run. If you are regularly streaming, gaming or live in a busy household where people are using multiple devices at once, then this can soon prove to be a false economy. Most providers increase their monthly prices annually but here at Wessex Internet we like to keep things simple which means you don’t need to worry about yearly increases once you’ve signed a contract.
Have you read the small print?
Many providers will offer what looks like a great deal however often you’ll find some cleverly placed small print to burst your bubble. The fantastic low price promising superfast speeds may only be valid for 6 months, then you’ll be paying an increased rate. As easy as it is to just click the ‘Accept Terms & Conditions’ button looking more thoroughly could save you a considerable amount of money in the long run.
What contract length do you want?
Lots of providers like to tie people into 24 or even 36-month contracts which don’t necessarily fit the needs of their customers. At Wessex Internet we know our customers lives are constantly changing so we like to be flexible, we offer 12-month contracts and if you move to an area we don’t cover yet, you won’t be charged a cancellation fee.
